- A domain name should be eye-catching, attractive and memorable
Keep it short but not to the point that it’s abbreviated beyond recognition. Try saying your name aloud. If you feel that it is simple to pronounce and doesn't contain negative sound combinations, then you've got it made. Domains cannot include spaces or other symbols.
- Register the domain name the the correct domain extension
For local appeal use an appropriate domain in your country: abc.com vs. abc.co.za. For wide appeal use a .biz, .info, .com, .org, or .net domain. These extensions indicate the nature of the website and your business. You are not restricted in your choice, provided it’s still available. The most commonly used extension for business is .com.
